Getting to know...Tully Banta-Cain

Tully Banta-Cain is passionate about football -- the Patriots' seventh-round pick in 2003 has said on several occasions that his goal is to be considered an elite pass-rusher -- but he also spends time cultivating his interests off the football field. The 30-year old spends time in the recording studio developing his talents as a musician (he plays new tracks for his teammates in the Patriots' weight room) and also owns a small clothing line.

The California native, coming off a 10-sack season, has 13 tackles and 1.5 sacks this year, and is a veteran leader of the linebacker group.

First car: A Nissan Sentra. It was an ' 89 or ' 90...it was a bucket. It had no reverse and the windows wouldn't roll down on the passenger's side. I would have to park facing up, use the momentum of the hill to roll down backwards.

First job: Working with my dad at the flea market. He went every Sunday. We went garage sale hunting every Saturday; we would get all kinds of knick-knacks and stuff and then try to double the price on Sunday at the flea market.

Last concert I went to: Pink Floyd at the TD Garden maybe three weeks ago. It was probably one of the best concerts I've ever been to -- I had never really heard their music; I've heard of them, but I'd never really heard their music.

Favorite meal: Shepherd's pie. (Here at) Gillette, they make the best.

Place I want to visit but haven't yet: Japan. It seems like an interesting place to go, seems like a whole other world. And I hear they appreciate Americans.

Favorite athlete in another sport: Floyd Mayweather Jr. I used to be (a boxing fan), but now it's kind of died out and I think he's one of the true pros still doing it. Him and Manny Pacquiao.

Favorite TV show: Eastbound & Down. [Asks Stephen Neal, walking nearby, about the full title of the of the show] Is that called Eastbound & Down: The Legend of Kenny Powers? It's a great show.

Pre-game ritual: I call my mom and dad every game. Like five minutes before we go out to the field. Sometimes we pray, sometimes they say something like, "make sure you do this..." But every game.

Favorite breakfast cereal: Life. Plain.

Prized possession: My Super Bowl rings.

If they made a movie about my life...I'd play myself. It would be a "Benjamin Button"-type movie. I'm getting younger now. Can't you tell?
